Nissan qashqai - Broker4cars- anyone used them? - micheles
Hi,
Sorry if this has been covered before but I have searched and can't see anything.
I'm looking to purchase a new nissan qashqai and have searched local dealerships, dealerships further afield and online. The best prices are with online car supermarkets and brokers... The dealerships just can't match the discounts offered.
I was just wondering if anyone has used broker4cars? I have chatted to them and can pay my deposit by credit card and the balance can be funded by a further down payment and HP with a company called motor finance.
The car will not be ore reg and I will be the first reg owner and not car of.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have not bought a car since 2006 and I purchased that from a local dealer.
Thanks everyone

Never heard of the brokers if you have to pay any cash to them the advice is stay away, you say the dealer cannot match the price but work out how much interest you will pay first.

If you don't have a trade in get a quote from drivethedeal to compare.

Thanks both for your replies.
The finance quote is 6.5% and we will only have a balance of £8k over 3 years so the interest is ok.
I did look at drive the deal but they are £2k more.
I can pay on my cc for the deposit but they get them direct from nissan not a dealership... They put through more orders than a franchise dealership hence the hefty discount.
I just wanted to see if anyone had used them, and it was a smooth transaction?

No personal experience but I am very much aware that they have been trading for donkeys years. I haven't, myself, seen vast tales of woe and have seen some cracking prices on there in the past. Better than DtD, as has been mentioned.

Carfile have also been going for years and years and have an excellent reputation.

I would personally be happy with any of the above mentioned firms. DtD hvae been going for years and were very helpful when I dealt with them some 12 years ago and I know of no reason to suspect they wouldn't be just as helpful today.

I'm not surprised Collos hasn't heard of them as he doesn't live in the UK (as he never fails to remind us in almost every post).

You do not read many of my posts I only mention my homeland when it is required in the subject matter.I have never had to deal with any brokers even though before I retired I had dealings with many UK dealers and manufacturers and I always keep one or two UK cars taxed and insured for when I am in the UK.

I've been reading your posts since 2001 or 2 ....when you called yourself Andy Bairsto.

I'm not going back twelve years to count the number of times "Germany" got a mention in your contributions.........but there ain't half a lot of 'em.

I did once though try to find the post ( written a very long time ago) where one of the fellow, long standing, contributors said something along the lines of...."whenever Andy Bairsto joins the thread, it's time for me to leave"....do you remember that?

Good ol' days eh?

So What! Andy/collos brings a slightly different viewpoint to things. I lived/worked in the motor trade in Switzerland for many years and it was an interesting experience.

how many dealers repairers had problems, and queries for years? Oh that will be £sss for an engine/body steam clean before we touch your car, the mechanic must not get his hands dirty. customer comes in, new battery at full retail + fitting charge. I am quite happy to be in the uk again where there is some competition.

I wonder how many of our "foreign" overseas contibutors can tell us of horror stories.

I don't always agree with what other posters say, but HEY! who ami to talk.

Carry on Contributing Mr bairstow.

Thanks for the posts :)
I've done some more googling and can't find any horror stories.
They've said to me that they get a fleet discount which is why I need to purchase on finance with them and am unable to buy it outright, a salesman at a nissan dealership was actually very nice and explained that brokers often get fleet codes due to the volume of cars they sell but main dealerships don't get the cars as cheap as this therefore cannot offer the same discounts.
Btoker4cars told me that the v5 / log book would come from dvla within 2 weeks... Does that sound legit? Sorry it's been such a long time since I bought a car!

A friend of mine bought a car from a car brokers many years ago, I can't remember the exact broker they used.

They went to the local dealer and asked for their best offer on a fixed specification. Then they telephoned many car brokers etc.(long before the days of the internet). They got a much cheaper price and the laughable thing was, They was told to collect the car from the franchised dealer they had originally gone to.

It is normal for the V5 to come direct from DVLA. (or it was when I last bought a new car anyway)

Which is the best broker for Ford vehicles?

John gross, peoples and Evans halshaw couldn't be any less competitive if they tried.

Just remember the simple rules about brokers.

  • Never use one that asks for money at any point of the deal. They get paid by the supplying dealer.
  • Never use one claims to have cars on stock. Dealers stock cars, not brokers.
  • Never buy form a broker that says its OK to keep the V5 for 6 months, its illegal and you would not be the first owner.
  • If a deal looks too good to be true it wil be.

I have bought from Carfile.net and got a great deal and the car was delivered by the dealer as arranged. V5 arrived within 2 weeks from DVLA with me as first keeper

I have a work collegae who bought from Drive the deal, exactly the same.

I placed an order with Broadspeed several years ago, all went well until the supplying dealer proved himself to be a total muppet. Broadspeed apologised and tried to find another dealer but failed. Eventually a local dealer matched their deal but I had to wait 5 months for the car. Would not use Broadspeed now since they demand a fee from the buyer before introducing you to a dealer, pure greed.

Don't forget the supermarkets, I have bought brand new pre-registered cars from a couple in the past with no issues. The discounts were much higher (over £2000 in one instance) than brokers were offering and the cars had done less than 10 miles each time. OK, were were the 2nd keeper but when we either PX'd or sold them privately it made no difference to the prices we got.

I have bought 2 cars from carfile.net a VW Golf and a Ford Fiesta.

As has been said in the post above you pay the main dealer not the broker. Both cars were delivered by the main dealer, brand new and I was the first name in the log book.

When I want my next car I will go back to carfile. One very satisfied customer!

Do carfile part ex?

Yes.

And their dealer gave me as much as the local dealer was offerering despite knocking £3000 off the list price.

Result.

Hi, I'm a producer at BBC Radio 4's consumer programme You and Yours. It would be great to have a chat with you asap about this please. It would be kind if you could drop me a quick email to harry.kretchmer@bbc.co.uk Many thanks H

Just ordered another car through Carfile, this time the Skoda Superb. Usual hassle free purchase. You know exactly what you will pay from the enquiry and all monies are paid directly to the dealer so no risk.

Cannot say anymore than give them a try when you are planning a purchase.

No connection other than as a satisfied customer.

Is that 6.5% APR or is this the flat rate? Common trick to quote the flat rate rather than the much higher APR figure. Even if it is, you can currently get a loan from Sainsbury's bank for 3.1% APR if you're looking for between £7.5k and £15k. It'll save a worthwhile amount. I have used brokers to obtain quotes which I then call round dealers within 50 miles of me to see if any will match it and I've always found one that will. Even if they're making nothing from the deal it still counts towards their bonus figures and given a take it or leave it option there's always one dealer who'll grab it. Our current Honda CRV was sourced this way at a huge discount.

By now the loan is probably nearly paid off, the post was in March 2014, almost 3 years ago.

FYI I got finance at 0% over 3 years even with the normal Carfile discount, beat that.

So it is! Note to self... read properly before commenting.

Good shopping skidpan, credit doesn't come cheaper than 0%.

Always amazes me that people will shop around for a good upfront price on the car but then give away every penny and more by not shopping around for the finance.
