Credit Hire Agreements solicitor Bank Statements - Rapier503

I have just found out I had a credit hire agreement for a hire car I had for 4 months and the at fault insurer is resulting to pay the hire cost so a solicitor is preparing it for court. The solicitorwants copies of my bank statments for the period of the hire. Do I have to provide them?

Thanks in advance

I would think that HJ is the best person to answer, but why on earth did you have a credit hire agreement for 4 months? it surely can't take that long to fix a modern car?

I suspect you're having to prove a need for the possibly higher class of vehicle than the standard courtesy car, its always a risk, especially as ORP asks, why the frankly ridiculous delay.

TBH this racket, and the whiplash type scams, are costing all of us in high insurnace premiums, high time the insurers called 'enough'.

Your legal team provided by your own insurer should have been advising you, assuming you bought the extra cover.

A credit hire car for four months, you must have been using Albany Assistance.

The other Insurer have requested copies of your bank statements to see if you were in the financial position to be able to hire a car through a standard hire car company at probably 70% cheaper than the credit hire company charged.

The agreement you signed with the CH company agreed that you would assist them in reclaiming the money eg attending court or providing documents etc.

Have you rung the hire company for advice?

4 months as the car was written off and I didn't get the payment through. I didn't even know it was a credit hire agreement until I had a letter from the solicitor with a questionnaire. There was never an explanation from anyone, insurance or management company. I just thought it was a hire car they paid for and claimed back.
