Ford Focus Estate - Clutch gone - Rossroad

The clutch is almost gone on my old Ford (1998). Is it worth getting a new clutch or putting cash towards a new (second hand) car?

All depends on the condition of the car, when is the MOT due, think tyres, servicing etc do the maths. if everthing else ok get a quote from mr clutch or somesuch and compare.

parts between £60 and £100 off flea bay.

There's another thread running on a similar issue - on a Citroen Picasso - which you nay find interesting. Generally I'd say it depends on what sort of shape the rest of the car is in.

The first-generation Focuses (Foci?) seem to be very well built, there are lots of T and V-reg models around here which still look in decent rust-free nick.

As said above, get a quote from a fast-fit place, the Focus is such a popular car that they should be able to give you a price straight off the bat.

There's a lot of sense in keeping a car that you know on the road with sensible expenditure. Selling it to spend more on buying an unknown used car is a gamble.
