Ford Mondeo Mk3 - Starter Motor problem - wavecars

Hello Please help.

I have just replaced the starter motor on my car because it was making a nasty noice when starting. Now when i try and start the car it turns over but then all you can hear is the starter motor spinning. The DMF was changed about 7000miles ago and looks perfect. Is it a faulty starter or something else?

I have checked the battery and its reading 13.5volts and about 11.2 when cranking. when the car does start its reading 14.5volts

Was the starter ring gear replaced with the dmf?

Is that hat you mean by dmf looks perfect?

If you still have 11.5 volts with the starter engaged it is obviously not turning the engine over, either your new starter is faulty or as mentioned the DMF gear ring.
