Been driving a mini dumper for the past couple of days. I've heard of dumbing down but this is crazy - it has ONE pedal. Forward and reverse selected on an stalk just like the indicators.

Getting used to it but trying to edge up close to a steep bank to dump materials was scary...I hate automatics at the best of times but without even a brake pedal to stomp on as a last resort, was something else entirely!

Of all the machines to design in this way, an off-road based one that needs good slow speed control would not be my first choice!

Good fun to hurl into a muddy corner flat out though :-D

It'll be taking into account your average operative. I helped a pal on a landscaping job years ago, and the dumper on site which we borrowed had an A B & C stamped into the pedal rubbers!

Probably due to the hydrostatic drive?
It's more like a boat than a car.
Has no gearbox or clutch, just engine driven hydraulic fluid pump and a hydrostatic drive on the axle or each wheel.
