Hi all,
I put petrol in my van 6 months ago, cut out immediately and I got a mechanic to clean it out. Worked fine then occassionally cut out doing 80 on the motorway. Waited 2 mins and it started and was fine again. Problem intensified over the months then went into limp mode. Diagnostics originally only showed glow plugs which were replaced and relay unit replaced. Still cut out over 3000rpm. New diagnostics gives P1187 error code. Just changed fuel filter, which hadn't been done for over a year. Could that be it? Please say yes!
Mechanic suggests could be fuel pressure sensor, fuel pressure control valve, fuel pump or injectors. Please could you advise where to go from here? Can the sensor be cleaned? Can it be visibly checked to see if it needs replacing? Funds are limited!
