FIAT 500 - Returned a new car V5C is in my name? never owned - Jesus

I am in a very strange situation with a new car I bought. I ordered an automatic Fiat 500 and a month later got a call from the dealer that the car is ready to pick up. Arranged the insurance and asked them to register it which they did. When I went to the dealership and went throught the paperwork and paid the money suddenly they found that the car is manual and I refused to collect it. Got my money back and so on but a week later i got the V5C form for it. So the question is what do i do with this form? I owned the car for 5 minutes and never even touched it but now it looks like i need to transfer it to the dealer?

I think this is for the dealer to sort out. They supplied a model which you did not order, and registered it on your instruction. Tell them. Then no need to do anything unless you get a parking fine ...

The dealer told me to send the V5C to them but i am a bit reluctant to do this. If they got the registration form and let say start using the car for test drives or something else and get fined i will have to deal with it.

Send the part of the form to DVLA that says you have disposed of the car to a dealer. Give the dealer the rest of the V5.

Keep copies of everything.

The DVLA will write to you a few weeks to say they have actioned the form. No problems with tickets.
