Hi everyone.

Went out to my car last week to go to work switched it on and a light was flashing. Got the maunual out had a look and it was the dpf light which I knew nothing about. I got into work and started googling DPF and found out it was quite a common problem which I was a bit relieved by. So the next thing i started googling was where I could get it fixed. Found a company quite nearby called Hagans Autos and went on the website for the number and gave the man Colin a ring. I got the car up to him and he said he would do the DPF removal for me and reprogramme the whole system. All this for only £350. Thanks to Hagans Autos.

Would you believe it, what a coincidence.

Only this morning on a new thread in Motoring a poster called lisa001 started a tread saying how wonderful Hagans Auto's were.

They must be really excellent if 2 people by total coincidence recommend them the same day.

Or could it be that Hagans Autos are after some free advertising for a service that the Governement should ban and then remove all cars from the road that have been modified in such a way.

Perhaps then the people who have been robbed could sue Hagans Motors and other such companies to get their cars put back in a road worthy and legal condition.

The guy is only opened and asked me if i would give him a bit of feedback which i have done on this and a couple of others. Sorry if i have offended anyone i can delete the thread if i have.

Just had a look at the site and its total nonsense.

For example:

To remove the dpf system the first thing is to remove the exhaust system from the vehicle, then depending on excess, remove the dpf internal filter until you are left with the catalytic converter filter. The next thing is to carry out a forced dpf regeneration of the dpf using a diagnostic tool, at this point the dpf code will need deleted by remapping the vehicles ecu with a map which no longer has a dpf code to operate the system.

But why on earth would you need to carry out a DPF Regen after the DPF had been removed. A regen takes place when the filter has reached a certain soot loading, if there is no DPF there is no soot thus no regen required which is why people remove their DPF's.

We had a BMW with a DPF for 5 1/2 years, in that time it carried out regens when need and never had an issue. We used the correct oil which is essential. I suspect that most cars that suffer from issues are incorrectly maintained or drivers simply ignore warning lights until its too late.

Hogans Hero's needs to do a lot of work on that website to make it look anything like convincing to anyone with 1/2 a brain. But even the best website in the world would never convince me to break the law.

And for the reccord its DPF not DBF thus if you do work for Hogans Hero's they are even dummer that I first thought.
