Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 Diesel - Vehicle will not start - Birdlady

My car sudderly started playing up on starting yesterday, needed churning over for long period befor firing up but then run absolutly fine. Today will not start at all. Have plenty of diesel and fuel filter was chaanged less than 1K miles ago. I dissconnected fuel supply from inlet manifold heater and turned engine over, plenty of fuel coming thro line. Vehicle has only done 62K miles so guess injectors do not need changing, anyway this is so sudden. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mike

Failed glow plugs/relay.

Failed engine temperature sensor.

Leak in fuel lines.

The list is long...you need skilled on site diagnostics.

Hi,

we've got the 2006 2.8 diesel Grand Voyager and have had problems for quite a while which was periodically solved by spending £200+ on a new battery, in the last six months the starting issue (sometimes taking 8+ attempts) has got worse.

We've taken it in to the dealership service agent and there are NO diagnostics/faults reported, and we've had the following changed:

Fuel Filter & Fuel Filter Housing; New Battery; All new injectors; All new Glow Plugs (at the weekend) - and still it won't start properly...there are no leak in the fuel lines, but we do suspect that there is a fuel problem somewhere.

I've now ordered a Glow Plug Relay - any other ideas would be helpful as it is becoming very frustrating and the service centre are completely clueless WHEREAS ONLINE everybody seems to have this issue with this car!

thanks

Ciro

Hello just had my 2006 2.8 grand voyager fixed that had same prob as yours wouldn't start in the morning unless u use easy start and always has trouble starting on the re-start, I also changed battery 8 months ago, just to let you know that the problem was the valve on the fuel line, no longer have a problem with it starting or re-starting, good luck and hope this info helps

Hi roborich,

I have an 06 grand voyager 2.8 CRD stow-n-go model which is very difficult to start and has recently started cutting out/stalling when running. Can you give me a little more detail on your fix with the 'valve on the fuel line' please? Where and what and how etc... Does yours have an additional cabin heater fitted - mine smokes on warm-up - may or may not be related? Newbie on site here but I have owned the car for 4 years! Thanks, N.

I've had the same problem just got it sorted. Not showing anything on comuter took it to a diesel specialist not main dealer. It was a leaking preasure switch £230 for diagnostic parts and lab + vat GEE Diesels Nottingham Had GV on a 06 plate 3 years starts better now than when I bought it.
