Can please someone suggest how to gain entry into a Sirocco after putting her lap top into the boot and shutting it, the locking system is not responding to the remote at all.

Unfortunately there are no key slots on any of the doors or boot to gain entry. Help would be appreciated.

If you look under your door handle there

is a little slot to remove the plastic cover

over the door barrell just prise it gently withyour key

and after you remove it you just use your key to open the car

Can I just say that you saved my life posting this! Okay not literally but I was stranded on my own at Stansted airport unable to get into my car in a lonely carpark at 1am. Not pleasant for a lady... Quite scary in fact. But thank God for Google and people like you. I will be eternally grateful for your post! Thanks so much. Jill Wright xx

One of the doors must have a key access point, but it usually hidden by a clip-on plastic cover.Take a close look at the door handle and there should be key symbol engraved in the plastic in the area where a key would normally fit.hth

The difficulty is that with a modern vehicle (just over 12 months old), there is no key supplied and just a remote push button "plipper" device.

Even if we had a key there is no key hole in either door or the boot, which makes gaining entry extremely difficult.

There must be some sort of emergency back-up key that slides out of the remote fob that will enable the door to be opened manually. You would be in the same situation if the battery was flat.

Agree with e-doc.

A he says you may have to prise the handle cover off, or (as in the case of Renaults and mentioned by Ibrally) there is a key sized hole under the NSF door handle which you slide the key (inside the idiotic credit card) into to undo the door, you'll just have to look for it or wait until tomorrow till you can speak to VW service.

Not a system i shall willingly be involved in, nor the latest fashion fad keyless go, now apparently a selling point on Fiesta..:-))) pardon me whilst i roll in the isles.

The more of this rubbish thats gets added the more i can feel meself pulled back to another Toyota pick up or old L/Cruiser.

Go to the drivers door and have a close look at the underside of the handle. There you will see a little slot on the non moving part of the door handle. Pop your key into that hole and pull the door handle as if you were opening the door. This non moving part of plastic will pop off revealing a keyhole and hey presto you in.

My apologies -I was trying to help my daughter in law who was stranded 200 miles away and giving me the wrong info.

Several of you were completely correct in that there was a plastic cover hidden under the door handle, which, when lifted, revealed the key hole and problem solved.

Thank all you once again for your great help, which was much appreciated

Perhaps a case of RTFM?

My daughters have read a page of theirs.

You might as well spend all day banging your head against the wall.

The replacement Civic 2.0S i found for mine (her money) some 6 months ago still, despite all my pleadings, hasn't come near me for an inspection or service, now its a good car and being a one owner local car had a FSH from the local Honda dealer...therefore its worth keeping it well fettled...agreed?...she had fanstastic service from her previous one despite thrashing the thing mercilessly and her high mileage, and was supposed to be treating this one better.

Well if you can get through to them that during the summer and warm weather wouldn't it have been a good idea for me to go through it, you're a better bloke than i'll ever be, i just know as soon as we're in the depths of winter she'll suddenly realise it needs an MOT and some work doing.

''it'll be fine Dad''....grr.

My daughter says I need constant supervision, but kindly offers to perform this function when we go out to shops/garden centre/classic car show. She obviously feels I'm now old and incapable.
