Mazda2 - Mazda 2 - What is an ASM Module? - jazzyman

I was looking into the reviews of the Mazda2 and one of the bad points states: ASM Module and gear actuators of automated manual prone to failure after 4 - 5 years and replacement likely to cost £1,500.

What is an ASM Module? and is the automated manual reffering to the Automatic version?

i would guess that an ASM module is the automated shifter module .The car has an electronic robotised shift of what is basically a manual gearbox,so only 2 foot pedals.An automatic gearbox will be a CVT or torque converter type transmission.hth
