Used Car Recommendation - Budget 5-6K - g424ahe

My mother in law needs to replace a 13 year old KA, she's 65 so wants this to be the last car she buys, as you can guess her milage is low around 5000 miles a year.

She has a budget of 5-6K. Is she better getting a brand new budget model Dacia, Checvrolet etc.. nearly new citroen C1, fiat 500 or slightly older ford ka, toyota ka.

Really interested to hear your thoughts re, pros and cons. her only reuquirement is it needsbe no bigger than her cuirrent KA and idealy to have air con.

Also what the best vakue way to get rid of the KA - PX, scrap, webuyanycar??

Thanks

Matt

How about a used Honda Jazz - always highly rated? Size is not such a problem if you have parking sensors!

Best way to get rid of the Ka depends on how much effort you want to put in. Trade in will be quick and easy, but if you want to raise a little more cash, try Auto Trader or your local paper. If the Ka is in decent condition, it would make a great first car for someone.

C1/107/Aygo are really good simple reliable little cars, aircon was an option so you'll just have to search till you find one, Aygo tends to fetch more but Toyota dealers are miles better than the others as to be worth paying a bit more.

Cheap tax insurance tyres etc, very easy to work on, fantastic all round vision for a modern car and last but not least that little 3 cyl engine is more tractable than most of the competition and proves almost impossible to stall which makes it a nice town car.

If she wants or needs auto this car cannot be recommended as its a simply horrid automated manual of satans design.
