Citroen C5 1.6Hdi Estate 2006 - Front wipers operate randomly while car locked - orchard33

My car has developed a curious fault, being that the front windscreen wipers start to operate at random while the car is stationary, locked and alarmed (ie. fully immobilised). When the car has been parked for a while inevitably the battery becomes flat with one occasion when the alarm activated (am unsure if this was due to external interference though). Prior to my ownership the car had a new heater matrix fitted so was concerned if the wiring had been disturbed but all appears to be intact. I have reset the BSI but the problem remains. Any suggestions would be most welcome - am getting tired of removing the fuse each time I leave the vehicle !!!

In transit mode before the main fuse was fitted PSA cars had a habit of the wipers giving one sweep when you turned the ignition on, might be worth disconnecting the battery for a while after removing that fuse then putting the fuse back in when reconnected, rebooting it might get it all happy again but no promises.

I'm normally against disconnecting batteries if at all possible (i use jump leads to maintain power during a battery change if all is well), but it was probably disconnected for the new heater matrix anyway.
