Hi,
A friend of mine has misplaced the spare keys for his Ford Transit 06 reg 2000-2006 model.
He still has one key which has a blue marking in corner and one remote key fob, which both work fine.
I guess if he lost them as well he would be in a lot deeper trouble, so would like to replace the lost spare set.
Am I right in thinking that there is no MASTER key for this model and that the remaining key and lost key are both 'blue keys' of equal value/status?
I have looked at ebay and it seems that the key fobs are easilly found at a sensible price and the instructions appear ok for matching it to the car, assuming I can do it using the existing key.
Can anyone confirm this is the case ?
The key appears more problematic, from what I have been able to find, 2 keys are required to program a third, without a visit to dealer or specialist.
Again, can anyone confirm that that is the case ?
Assuming it is, has anyone experience of this and the costs involved. I assume the dealer will be silly money, what about an independent specialist ?
Also, please forgive my ignorance but do these keys require physical cutting as well as 'programming' or are they all physicallly the same ?
Any advise gratefully received.
Thanks
