Peugeot 206 1.6 hdi - DPF Replacement Question - Deedee85

Hey all. I've had the dreaded "unblock diesel filter" pop up in the past week and I know my options are to either replace or get it deleted.. However...

It just occured to me that a couple of weeks ago I got an anti-pollution fault which I checked out as being high voltage on the glow plugs - something which I read was required for a regen on the DPF.

So, my question is, could that be the reason why the DPF is reading that it needs unblocking? Could it be such a simple thing that changing the glow plugs and allowing it to regen would solve my problem? I'm not sure exactly how old the DPF is as I purchased the car at 55k and it's now at 71k and I have no idea if it had one on before I purchased it.

Thanks in advance, Danny.

Hi Danny

Its coming up to replacement time I would think but first check the battery voltage, it should be about 14.4 volts with the engine running, if its OK the filter could well be the problem. If you are a DIYer the filters are not very expensive on ebay.
