2002 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec - Oil consumption - willow

Can anyone offer me an explanation as to why my car is using about a third of a litre of oil a month. There is no blue smoke from the exhaust and no leaks. The car has done 123000 miles and still runs smoothly. I had an MOT about two weeks ago and it passed with flying colours, so no probs with emissions.Where is my oil going?
