Ford Focus - B1492 error - Rich212121

Hi,

Probably a stupid question but I'm not mechanical.

Used ForScan and have an B1492 error and I'm aware of an accident the car was in.

My question with the error on the car would it affect the performance of the car.

It's making a noise when accelerating so didn't know if it was fuel starvation?

B codes are body system trouble codes . 1492 relates to crash data stored . It’s unlikely this is the cause of your engine issue. Any faults logged in P power train ?

Ok thanks. Not the only other error which shown up was u0140

The car performing fine not issue just have this noise when accelerating and car is moving not as idle

That code refers to the body control module receiving a fuel.pump cut off request during a accident.

Shouldn't effect the running of the car after being reset, describe the noise.

More information on the car may help . Model , age , petrol , diesel , auto or manual?? U codes are network communication faults .

Unless the code is reset the fuel pump won't work, can you describe the noise? Is it engine related?

Ps: I'm not a clever clogs just came across this code while helping a mate out recently, he explained its meaning .

Thought 'U' code's indicated a wiring issue? ( goggle helped with that one!)

Noises are extremely difficult to pinpoint without being “hands on “ . Take it to a garage for an assessment. U codes can occur for various reasons, wiring , low battery voltage are just a few . Good old Google fix , thankfully they don’t fix cars .
