If the fault is after 5 months, why is the advice not go back to the dealer who sold the car and get them to repair it under the CRA?
Basically it's a used car and sounds to be wear and tear items.
Who knows how the car has been driven (or abused) by it's present (or previous) owners. IE. many people don't slow down at all, for speed bumps. If it's being driven at 20 speed bumps every day, the damage isn't surprising.
The burden of proof is on the dealer to show they were not defective at the date of purchase.
The fact that the problem only arose after 5 months. If the dealer has a documented pre-delivery check and they put an MOT on the car, then they could probably successfully argue that the fault wasn't present at the time of sale.
At the moment, no one has said that the car isn't roadworthy!
