A family member has a 10+ year old A6 3.0 TDI quattro with the 7 speed DSG. The box I think will be a DQ500/0BH

It appears to be suffering from clutch slip on the even gears which is why I think it's the clutch pack. It's 10+ years old with something like 70,000 miles.

Suggestion is that if it's 'only' the clutch it might cost £2,500 + to replace. Replacement clutch packs on a quick search see to be around £700, which suggests this is a very labour intensive job.

Should it really be so expensive?
