What's a good EV for towing?
In the light of coming developments and the possibility of having to drop the beast (which is really good for the job), what are your thoughts on EVs and caravanning, and could you recommend any possible replacements?

There are plenty of EVs capable of hauling very heavy loads, including the Kia EV9, which can tow up to 2500kg, or on the smaller/more affordable end of the spectrum, the Volvo XC40 Recharge manages up to 1800kg on some versions. However, we're still at a point where caravan touring with an EV will be quite tricky. Your range will drop dramatically when towing, and public recharging en-route isn't easy, as aside from a handful of Gridserve Electric Forecourt charging stations, most will require you to unhitch to reach the plug. If you're happy with how your current vehicle gets on with the job, it's probably best to stick with it, or look for a more modern equivalent.
