Hi
Has anyone else had problems with the adaptive cruise control on a new Peugeot 408.
We began the lease on a brand new Peugeot 408GT in May, we took it to the dealers in June with a faulty adaptive cruise control, it read the roadsigns for the motorway as 27mph.
The dealer informed us it was impossible to have 27mph as a display, however the photograph proved history be true.
I was told Peugeot would be in contact, once they had a resolve forthe fault.
We left the dealership a little disenchanted.
Phoned the dealership a week later, no resolve for the fault.
Contacted Peugeot Customer service and raised a complaint, two days later, contacted by the dealership and given a courtesy car.
Several days later, dealership contacted me and stated it needed a new RADAR, but they would build their back up and give me the car back with the system disabled.
I informed them to keep the car until they had repaired the car.
we were informed the part was not commercialised and was not available.
A period of constant contact with Peugeot Customer Care followed, with no forecast of when the part was available.
We stayed in the courtesy car until September, when they stated they could not tell me when the partwould be available, they suggested I reject the vehicle due to the fault.
We duly returned the car and was given a dealership courtesy car, however, they asked for it to be returned as Peugeot would no longer pay for a courtesy vehicle.
We started the rejection process in September, going through the lease company (LEASYS)and the Finance Company CA Auto Finance, however we have now being told we cannot reject the vehicle as the adaptive cruise control is not a safety
Not sure this is correct reason why I cannot reject the vehicle, it was sold with adaptive cruise control, it doesn't work, they have had 5 months to fix but the part is still unavailable.
Not sure what to do next, but my advice, don't buy a new Peugeot 408
A very unhappy and frustrated ?? Peugeot leaser.
Any advice on the next step?
