Long story short.
My wife had just reversed out of a parking space in lidl and had lined up to drive out of the car park, While stationary a car reversed out from the opposite side and hit my wife's car in the rear door causing damage to the rear passenger door.
The other driver tried to blame my wife for the accident and he would not give my wife his details.
My wife checked with the store for CCTV Footage, But they didn't have cameras in the location of the car park.
The guy told my wife that because it happened on private land and the damage isn't to bad, Then it would be better just to forget about it and for my wife to get the repair done out of her own pocket and he would get the repair done on his own car which was a little scuff that would T cut out.
I reported the indecent to the police who were not interested, I have been told that the repair will cost around £100 to pull the dent out.
I contacted our insurance to tell them about the incident, So its recorded but i have decided NOT to have the repair fixed by the insurance company since we didn't have prove that the other driver caused the damage and by time we pay the £300 Excess and possible increase of premiums, It was simply not worth it.
I am tempted to get a written quote and confront the other driver asking him to pay for the damage or is it just to put it down to a bad costly experience?
Any thoughts ???
