I’m looking for a bit of help and advice with my diesel car I recently purchased.
The low fuel warning came on with 50 miles left and then the Restricted Performance notice so I drove home and to the garage by which time it had 35 miles of fuel.
i expected the RP to go away after filling up thinking it was fuel related, but it has persisted unless I am heavy on the accelerator, when it does go away. However, cruising even at speed makes it come on again.
What would make it appear and stay unless I floor it?
It has just had a full service last week with oil and filter replaced and everything else checked out for a clean bill of health.
I wouldn’t have thought the fuel level was low enough to cause any problems as I often drove my old car with much lower levels with no issues.
Any insight and advice welcome as I am still trying to get to grips with learning all the foibles Jaguar seems to have, including the battery going flat if it’s not taken for a long run every week which I can’t always do.
If I can get rid of the RP warning, it’s going up for sale.
