Suzuki - Electric - paul 1963

Took the Vitara in for its annual service and first mot today ( passed with flying colours), saw my new swift, picking it up next Friday:)

Talking to the sales guys they told me that along with a electric Vitara in the pipeline there is also a full EV Ignis due next year, should be interesting for those of us that like Suzukis.

Edit: I know it's seems a bit daft getting the Vitara serviced a week before chopping it in but it's on a service plan, costs a few quid a month plus they've agreed to such a good trade in price think I would have felt guilty knowing it was due a service.

Not sure where you'd put the batteries in a Vitara,.let alone an Ignis!

All new models so I assume they'll be under the floor as on most electric cars?. My old electric Berlingo work van had exactly the same load height and ride height as the diesel's in the fleet so its obviously a relatively easy thing to do?

Ah. Didn't realise they were new models.

I suppose they could find somewhere on the old ones too. On the continent, you can get an electric Twingo, so I suppose you must drop the range accordingly.

Batteries could be placed where the fuel tank was, where the gearbox, transmission was and also bear in mind the electric motor is far less bulky than a petrol motor. My guess is in engineering terms the biggest problem isn't where to stick the pack/s it's keeping the weight distribution right.
