Citroen c3 picasso - Central locking causing battery drain - strickjumpers

Hello,

I have identified f8 20A fuse as the culprit circuit/s causing parasitic drain of battery to the tune of 1.5A.

Having pulled it the immediate problem is solved but as the radio and display are also through this I need to find out how to permanently repair the problem.im having difficulty finding wiring diagram on the Internet.

Any known culprits? Is a lock or central locking module likely..

Not a professional so any guidance very much appreciated.

Thanks mike

Thanks

There is no dedicated central lock module. Most of the body functions are controlled by the Bsi . ( body systems interface) . Most car electronics systems don’t shut down immediately. I would leave the car for at least 30 minutes before assessing a current drain . Pulling fuses is not the correct method for testing a current draw on modern vehicles.

Thanks.

I left the car overnight then went to it without power doors open etc.

Locks latched and car locked.

Where would I find correct procedure for tracing battery drain please?

Many thanks.

Identified the offending fuse but there are three circuits protected.

Not as first thought central locking but.audio, dash board display and security system siren!

Not sure where to go from here trying to isolate further.

Do not have a wiring diagram as haynes do not do a book for the mk2.

Thanks.

Unfortunately this is the problem with modern cars . There’s usually more consumers on a particular fuse than the fuse plan/ handbook tells you. I’d start by disconnecting the alarm sounder . If you can find it . How old is the car ?

Hello,

Thanks for the advice,

The car is 2010..

I can't find haynes manual ir any wiring diagram online.

The radio has display but no audio..could the internals of radio amp be to blame?

Initially thought it was central locking fault.thats a different fuse.

So radio, dash display I clouding clock etc and security system..I'm wary incase immobilise cuts in anx locks me out for good for tampering.

Cheers.mike

I’d pull the radio out and disconnect it . See if that makes any difference to your situation. Very difficult to find an accurate wiring diagram that makes any sense.
