A son bought a 2023 Golf from a VW Franchise - top of the range 7,000 miles over £40K.
Driving home there was a rumble and he thought it was a wheel bearing.
Back home he ran about in the car for 2 weeks until his local VW garage could look at it.
Wheel bearing it was BUT they pointed out the following
1) Bends on steering & suspension arms
2) Dent in sump
3) Bottom of radiator bent
Accident damage "overlooked by selling dealer"
He duly contacted the Lancashire dealer with the report, photos & video from his local dealer
"Nothing to do with us - our team raised no concerns over the condition of the car prior to sale"
He contacted VW HQ , with the same photos/videos as it was an "Approved VW Car"
VW HQ, to their credit, have arranged with the local VW outlet to do the remedial work on the car.
Major UK Chain with multiple Franchised Brands located all over the country - you would expect issues with back street dealers BUT a VW Franchise selling a top of the range car!!!!
