This is why you need to do your research on insurance cost before buying a car.

I have to say though, I'm a little sceptical of that info. There is an awful lot of people in the USA and an awful lot of vehicle accidents. Doesn't seem likely to me that a fairly expensive car like the S4 would be involved in most of them.

(Should also say that I may be getting a whiff of tinned meat products from the OP?)

Having googled the study, it's based on % not absolute number - so hardly surprising that a popular high performance car attracts some dodgy drivers.

Interestingly the Chevrolet Volt was the 3rd worst - GM's first generation EV.

It was the Volt's successor, the Chevrolet Bolt, which has had a spate of fires - caused but faulty seat-belt pre-tensioners not by anything electrical.

Lies:-)

GM's first EV was the EV1: the forerunner of the Tesla.

EV1 was a large-scale experiment that has to be considered a failure as GM has fallen considerably behind other major manufacturers and is now working hard to catch up.

The technology used by Chevrolet Bolt is first generation and isn't being carried forward in any of their more recent Ultium-based models.
