Got my first ever NIP in the post today after 18 years of driving, bit miffed but have to good my hands up.

Was doing 50 in a 40 on a duel carriage way I was in a rush as running late but still my fault none the less, I've filled it all in going to send it off first thing Monday.

Whats the chance of getting a speed awareness course over the points and a fine as I'm usually very careful as my license is my job.

My understanding courses are only for a few miles over. 50 in a 40 I'm guessing fine three points over and out. Best of luck anyway.

Up to 53 in a 40 is a speed awareness course, as long as the police force in question offers them. I got one for doing 37 in a 30 - accelerating towards a 40 sign. I'm still sulking, but I was technically speeding and the course wasn't too bad. It moved along and I could do it over Zoom with a cup of tea.

Im hoping that I can get away with the course but what will be will be

Take the points and fine...I done a speed awareness course 2 years ago ( 36 in a 30, Sunday afternoon on a country road blah blah blah...) to say it was painful would be a understatement, done it online, guy taking it was more interested in eating his lunch and trying to hit on the couple of ladys present and the company I booked through, forget the name, sold my details, had endless spam emails for months after....

You could have given him / the course / and the company running it a bad review, if all of the above was true.

I was able to give feedback after my speed awareness course.

I got zapped for doing 37 in a 30 about five years ago. Wasn't my fault, I was running late for a meeting ;-) I found the course useful (retired Police officer I think running it), it's true what he said, who looks at the Highway Code after passing their test? Not many.

I can assure you it is true, I did give feedback, I also spent weeks complaining to them and trying to prove that they sold my details.
