Hi, my daughters vw occasionally cuts out and when she tries to start it it will turn over but won’t run. After a few minutes it will go. This has happened 2 to 3 times over the last 6 months at very awkward times. Someone has mentioned it could be a relay sticking but there are quite a few on this car, not to sure where to look. Hope someone out there could help or give any clues what else it could be.

Could be an immobilizer problem although they usually stop you starting the car. You really need to get the codes read. Otherwise it's just guess work from the information you've given us.

Does the engine management light come on? At what point does it cut out? Engine warm or cold, high revs, pulling away? You've given us precious little to work on.

So many possibilities . It’s not possible to hazard a guess. As suggested. A diagnostic check may give an indication of what area to look at.

Hi, normally happens when pulling away, warm engine, no lights on dash.
Would a faulty relay show up on diagnostics test. Today she went to work no problems. (20 miles) Thanks for quick reply. Sparky.

I think a faulty relay would be the last component on my possible failure list . You really need to do a diagnostic test to go any where forwards here . Could be an injector??
