Insurance Policy Details - desmrics

Hi all

Had a bump at the local supermarket carpark. Details aren't important. Neither of us was admitting liability. So we exchanged details and I said we would leave it up to the Insurance companies to sort out. All reasonably polite.

Couple of days passed and i logged into my Insurance company to get my details to pass on to the other party and there was a claim logged against my policy.

How would the other party have found out my Insurance Policy Details without me giving them over?

The other party would have informed there insurance company & they would have traced who your insured by via your vehicle registration number.
