Tesla Model S etc - Electric Car Towing - Michae_l

Just wondered if anyone has experience with towing with electric cars. Only a few seem capable and I think you have to turn off the energy recovery under braking? Wondering if it’s worth even considering if range Is reduced too much, although I wouldn’t want to tow much more than a folding camper

Polestar 2 will tow 1500Kg. The towbar must be a factory fit and cannot be retro fitted.

Most of the charging setups in the uk are drive in, or reverse in, not drive through like some in the States, would be quite a faff to remove the trailer every time you need to charge.

Those that do tow seem to report a 25-50% reduction in range.

If you cover no more than 100 miles per day and have easy access to a charging point at home or work, then an EV is ideal for you.
