We have a static caravan on the Welsh coast, the site also provides services for lodges, towing caravans & tents. It's not a massive site though you see the maintenance people running round in vans, all diesel, with offerings from VW, Toyota, Ford & Renault. They range from 2011 - 2016 & shuffle about the site on very short distances.

I assume they all have dpf's & it's always fascinated me if they have any problems. l recently had the opportunity to speak with a couple of the drivers & the manager of the site, who stated they haven't experienced any issues with dpf's.

Presumably these maintenance vehicles are not restricted to that one sight though?

Sounds like they are the smart ones who opted for a Euro 4 diesel like my son who has a 13 plate Transit. Perfect ! And this is what we specifically chose.

Ive heard that Ford can refuse warranty claims on DPF s even in vehicles under three years old.

And some owners are prepared to buy an older van and refurbish it rather than get one with a DPF out of warranty if they are doing short runs.

It's a single owner site BBD & from one end to the other is certainly less than a mile.

Sorry, you said maintenance people (plural) in vans (plural), so I was assuming this was an outside company who provide services to caravan parks.

Either they get the occasional run out on the road to keep the DPF happy or they’ve been removed or they’re happy to run about in limp-home mode with the DPF light glowing away merrily. I doubt they’ve had no trouble from a DPF equipped vehicle that’s restricted to a small site.

I live next to an airport and speaking to a few people who work their about this very subject reveals that they often have to take vehicles out onto the road to allow regens to occur.

Apologies, should have been more clear BBD.........there are four maintenance people (plus the manager who drives a Mitsubishi L200) in four vans, one of each make. They maintain this site only.

It could be as you describe SLO, l'll have to ask in more detail.
