Tesla - Email payment scam - expat

If you buy a Tesla you have to do it online. There are no dealers. There have been cases of scammers sending false bank details and using them to defraud Tesla buyers.

Tesla needs to sort this out or no one will have any confidence in dealing on line with them.

Agree they should be able to take secure payments online, however it's not difficult to send a test payment of a £1. If that appears on your online account you're good to go with the rest knowing it's definitely not a scam.
