Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.4l 07 plate - Aux in socket help please - Englishbullterrier

Hi guys, haven't been on for some time as I've been Ford-less !

Anyway, just bought a lovely little low mileage Fiesta Ghia.

For the life of me I can't find the aux-in socket. The unit itself has the AUX button, and when depressed it selects AUX as the input.

Is is possible that it hasn't been wired in and I need to buy the cable with the plug on it to go into the rear of the unit, or am I being thick and simply not finding it ?

My last Mondeo has the socket in the glove compartment, but I've look there.

Any help would me much appreciated.

If it’s got an aux socket, it will be fitted near the gearshift trim surround panel.

b*****, hasn't got it. Can't believe that Ford, in their top model, didn't fit it, especially as the head unit has the Aux button and connection facility.

Anyone know the cable assembly part number please ?

I think the Ford part # is 1426121. There’s one on flea bay for around £25

Some cars already have the wire fitted under the trim but not the socket - my girlfriends 2006 Fiesta did.

IIRC the trim is marked on the underside where to drill to fit the socket.

Thank you, do you mean the console trim that carries the 12v socket and the gearstick ?

OK, just want to close this down.

Removal of the head unit showed in fact that there was no harness/plug in place for the AUX input.

I went to the the local scrappie and cut and removed the harness/plug and also the 3.5mm jack socket next door to the 12v socket next door to the gear shift,

I extended the 3 wires, connected up and it works fine.

In fact the underside of the trim by the gear shift has the hole already marked for the jack socket. I used a step drill bit up to 20mm and installed it.

Easy job really.
