was wondering about the Euro NCAP crash test ratings.

Say for example a car purchased today has a 5 star rating.

In 5 years time, what crash test rating would it have if it was retested ?

Obviously things move on as more and more safety is built in (and cars get heavier with more safety kit).

If a car looses its rating over time, whats the point of paying extra purchasing a 5 star rating car when it's 3 star rating in 5 years time ?

I did email Ncap asking about this and they never got back to me so I just wondered what other owners thought.

A car that's 5-star now but reduces to 4-star over time is still better than a 4-star now as that will reduce even lower.

I'd give this spam post (????? link at the end) 3 flying pigs out of 5.

Spam link noted and avoided. But re the above, the increasing weight just causes more damage to other vehicles, presumably lowering their ratings. What about the impact of a nice heavy EV battery ?

Must be a variant on the usual spamming technique - recycle an earlier post (with the OP's ID included), add a link and hope someone doesn't notice it.
