Date of registration sets the age of vehicle. I once looked at an A2 which was keenly priced, but I'd done my homework and the spec was different from the age on the plate. Sure enough it was 18 months older than the reg.
However you identified a number of faults before you accepted the vehicle and, whilst it is difficult to do as buying a car is an emotional purchase (even more so with a hard to find model), the time to reject was at that point as the problem then stays with the dealer.
Your after purchase checks suggest you know how to identify production dates, look for labels, age of tyres etc, you asked the question about age and it wasn't answered, thats another warning bell.
By all means try and reject and you may be successful if you have evidence the vehicle was misrepresented. Read up on the Consumer Rights Act and see if you have a case.
