Good news for the A303 too - no Glastonbury this year either.

One year, I dropped youngroverbelle 1 off at wincanton and paid a taxi for her to Glastonbury very early in the morning, and when I collected her and her friend from Bristol, took them home to London and made them change out of their clothes into dressing gowns in the garage before i let them in the house..

I remember collecting my youngest son from a festival. He and three friends. I was gagging but luckily it was only a 60 mile drive. What do they get up to, apart from not showering? I believe the UK is a major contributor to this ESC event. Although I cannot see why we subject ourselves to the annual humiliation of a tactical and downright insulting voting debacle. It should be judged by experts in their field and keep the average m**** and his/her opinion out of it. That would at least remove the politics from the arena. I didn't mind the evening per say, some entertainment and a bit of hopefully useful intermixing with our neighbours. This may be the chance to change the way the contest is organised and run. But from the reaction here I think not. I get the impression it will missed as much as toothache!! Hey ho!

Oh come on, when Wogan used to introduce it, it was a good laugh. I admit I haven't seen it since.

I am a self confessed T.O.G.

and proud of it!

And wasn't Terry stopped from doing it for taking the P out of the contest..

If it was, it was a shame because it was the only reason worth watching!

No ESC? That's worth a few thousand fatalities right there.

The Eurovision Song Contest is one of those things that people enjoy watching even though they think it's tacky and superficial!

Some do, some don't. Gave up watching it in the last century.

Agree entirely bathtub tom. Terry was a superb broadcaster with an excellent wit. A sad loss when we lost him. I have watched many an ESC and to some extent have had a decent evening. But it still doesn't excuse the blatant and obvious voting system. Like I said, judging should be in the hands of a panel of experts and keep the xenophobic idiots out of it entirely.

Great shame but expected, the voting is always a source of greater entertainment than the songs .. ticking off the list of who gives whom 12 points, never fails to please.

I always make a point of watching the little "postcards" as the acts are introduced, last year the UK act's postcard came from the Baha'i Temple in Haifa with some of the most beautiful gardens found anywhere.

Sad about TW but fellow Irishman GN does a sterling job for BBC TV.
