Citeron dispatch 1.6 hdi - Electrical problem - Osian Williams

Hi guys i have the above veiechle on a 10 plate, just before xmas i was driving along it just cut out compleatly egnition comes on but engine wont crank, have had three mechanics look at it and all three sugested diffrent things, one said it was bsi unit send it away to be fixed nothing wrong with it,second said it was fuse box bought a new one for 235 quid its still the same,if power is put into the fuse box into fuse no 10 she then will crank and by doing this you can get reding on the computer that comes up with low fuel pressure, but surely low fuel pressure would not stop the engine from cranking!!

Anybody had simelar problem and have any ideas of what this could be?

Its a citeron dispatch 10 plate 1.6 hdi

Sounds like you have some kind of power loss at the fuse /distribution box. Low fuel pressure fault would not stop it cranking. Have you checked fuse distribution panel on top of battery ?

Yes have tested everything in fuse boxes only fault i can find is fuse no 10 not getting 12 v into it its about 5.6 v but when i put 12 v directly into that fuse port it cranks.but wont start.

If this van has the battery by the drivers seat , I would check all the wiring and connectors in this area . Fuse 10 is supplied from this junction point.

Thanks buddy will have a look tomorow, fed up with the b***** thing at the mo nowbody seems to be able to find the fault, does the feed go direct from this junction box into thd fuse box or does go to the ecu then to the fuse box?

Starts off from battery, then to engine bay fuse box and then switched to engine Ecu via relays in fuse box .

If you havent already, I would remove and clean the earth strap even if it looks ok. Lots of electrical gremlins can be caused by poor earth strap.

Earth strap has been removed and cleaned still nothing, its just wierd all other fuses apart from fuse no 10 seems to get full 12v into them fuse no 10 only gets 6v,when 12 v gets put directly into that fuse it cranks but wont start.,it seems that something is stoping the 12 v going into that fuse and only that fuse. Whrn ignition is switched on battery light flashes but nothing when you turn the key!!!
