Insurance Premium Reduction - With A DashCam - oldroverboy.

I wrote about this when I renewed last year, just as I changed cars at renewal, and the words are there on the policy Documents in Black and White this year!

"Fitted dash Cam"

"Fitted reversing sensors"

I looked on some of the comparison sites and effectively it looks as if i have about a £30 reduction.

Insurance companies can say what they like

Reduction for a camera

Reduction for being married couple driving

Reduction for lower mileage, no business use........................

At the end of the day I pick an insurance company that I have heard of in the past. An insurer that includes driving other cars, lower excess.......... and is a competitive premium against others.

I was with Esure2001 to 2016 - £125 rising to £180 / £190 in 15 years I was with them. They then sent out a £324 renewal premium. I looked around Aviva £164 IIRC.

Phoned Esure to cancel only to be told "we can match that" to which I replied "I never deal with companies that try to screw me"

3 years on still with Aviva £180, IIRC.

I think if you stick rigidly to this policy you could run out of reasonable options. Many companies hike annual renewals for 'regular' customers, presumably because they reckon the customer won't notice. A quick phone call usually puts things back where they were.

Answer, We are with LV, House insurance this year rise was less than a couple of quid.

Life insurance no change. Car again couple of quid.

why do we stick? Each time i call with a query it gets answered. green card sent out FOC. No admin fees as have other policies with them (I mention it) when changing details. No change for adding my side protector mouldings. (Noted sir)

But LV are aware that I check annually too! This year they were actually £33 cheaper than my quote from a comparison site that hadn't asked if i had a dashcam and reversing sensors.... and that was the cheapest of the quotes. Still with LV.
