Mazda 3 - Headlight cover replacement? - dazzabeezer

Hi

I have a crack in my right rear headlight cover. Everything else in intact.

Can you just buy the covers?

Any ideas where?

I have done a Google search but cannot find anything.

Any help appreciated please!

Thank you

Jay

right rear headlight????

Do you mean headlight (front of the car), or tail light (rear of the car).

The tail light on the drivers side - but just the transparent cover is cracked on it.

The back right corner of the vecicle where the break light is.

That’s going to need a new lamp assembly complete. However , if it just the outer clear plastic that’s broken , and there’s no visible white light ( if it’s tail, brake or indicator ) , then that is good enough for an mot pass.

Iirc, I once used clear nail varnish to seal such a crack.

As said these days they are all complete units.

So long as its not leaking (seal it up for now) and its not showing a white light then its not urgent.

I had similar but a chunk of the clear outer cover smashed on the back of my Subaru, looked unsightly but not leaking or showing wrong colour so not urgent, i just kept an eye on ebay for my model breaking, sure enough after a couple of weeks the right one cropped up for £23 odd incl postage, which i snapped that up and its now in place, suggest you do the same because these things are rather expensive from the maker's part depts.
