I wish we could get some of the models available readily in the USA, though the heavy UK taxes on our fuel and VED (road tax, we live to pay taxes here, even when you die they grab a slice)) has always been a decider for most of us, i'd have had a Camry on the drive for years had the better engined version after around the mid noughties been available here.
A few years ago i happened upon ebay motors instead of ebay uk, what was really interesting is the amount of pictures of parts of the cars few people in the UK ever get to see, it was the first time i'd come across Genesis as a make to see in close up, and their V8 was featured on the bay by one dealership with probably 50 high quality photos which put to shame the hazy (almost silk stocking over the lens to hide the reality) virtually useless bog standard pics of the parts we are allowed to see in the UK.
Must have been 20 hi res pics from every conceivable angle taken from underneath of tyhat V8 Gen whilst on a workshop lift, i'd been carrying Hyundai/Kias for years anyway, i'd seen how they were made close up anyway, with Kia's Ceed being a benchmark when it arrived, Genesis took that constantly improving build quality to another level entirely, as it should being Hyundai's Lexus equivalent, it made me realise that Hyundai/Kia had come of age and they had Toyota/Lexus attention to build quality and durability, rather than the German marques increasingly less durable offerings, in their sights.
Welcome to the forum, always interesting to here what drivers in other parts of the world are buying and why.
