Hyundai Tucson - New Tucson N line vs Sportage GT Line (Petrol DCT) - ArunShah

Hello,

I am considering Buying one of these New and have some great prices Via CarWOW.

Could you tell me the pro's and cons of each?

Currently the Tucson is coming in at £528 Less than the Kia

Also the tucson has a 4.9% APR on a 4 year term PCP, while the Kia is 5.9% on a three year term PCP.

Otherwise the spec list looks fairly similar, However the GT Line DCT Petrol is All Wheel drive and will probebly use More fuel.

The reason I am going for petrol is that i live in london and do not take many long journeys.

Please share your opinions about the pro's and con's of each of these cars, and at the Price i have managed to negotiate (Around £23k) is there better options in the SUV??

Cheers for your help.

The Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson are essentially the same car under the skin, so if you were comparing like for like, it would simply be down to personal preference. But you are comparing a 4wd Sportage to a 2wd Tucson (which is why it is more expensive). Otherwise, they share the same engine, gearbox, platform, suspension etc. Yes the 4wd Sportage will use more fuel, but only about 3 or 4 mpg.

So really, what this boils down to is whether or not you prefer the looks of the Sportage enough to pay the extra.

The Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson are essentially the same car under the skin, so if you were comparing like for like, it would simply be down to personal preference.

We bought a Kia Ceed instead of the Hyundai i30 some years ago for that reason. Both were roughly the same price, same spec but the Ceed had more space inside which was a plus point.

The other plus point for us was the Kia warranty covered us for 7 years instead of 5 years of the Hyundai. OK, we only kept it 5 years but we were able to sell it with 2 years of warranty remaining and on a private sale that certainly helps compared to selling a Hyundai with no warranty.

But there is one proviso here, after its 3rd birthday the Kia warranty is limited to 100,000 miles thus if you had exceeded 100,000 miles there would be no warranty. The Hyundai warranty is unlimited mileage for the whole 5 years.

If you are a higher mileage driver buy the Hyundai, if you do under 14,000 miles a year buy the Kia.
