Engine splutters under half a tank but runs smooth on a full tank ?

Engine splutters under half a tank but runs smooth on a full tank ?

Failing in-tank pump? Full tank will give more hydrostatic pressure so will help lift fuel to the engine. Does it run smooth with half a tank facing down a steep gradient?

I’ll have to try this on half a tank thanks , some one said the splutter could be injector but it doesn’t always splutter just when there’s not much fuel in but I never let it go too loo like under quarter tank

Perhaps there is some kind of obstruction in the tank causing a reduction of fuel delivery.

Some one suggested faulty fuel pump don’t know if this is in the tank m

The in tank pump is the lift pump to the main hi pressure pump driven by the engine . There is a gauze filter on the bottom of the tank pump. Might be worth checking. Also have you changed the main diesel fuel filter?

Yeah recently had it serviced I’ll get that pumped checked thanks very much for your help
