Classic Car Hoarder's Collection - RaineMan

The collection of cars and spares amassed by a former garage owner in Louth are the subject of an online auction today/tomorrow. It shows you can have too many projects. I am down to one motorcycle and one car which is probably enough!

Here's a link to the auction:

What a load of - very expensive to restore and then not worth a lot - junk.

Classic Car Hoarder's Collection - Glaikit Wee Scunner {P}

Yup junk.

Put all those Rover P4 parts together , you'd still have a lot of junk.

A friend has a large garage and sheds full of such stuff. He doesn't care that its a mess.

The stuff I throw away is in better nick than that load of rubbish.

I actually find the collection rather sad! Hopefully, the gentleman had a decent daily driver and, maybe, a useable classic. Now I am down to one classic (in decent condition) it feels a relief in a way.

I watched the end of the auction online. Nothing made much money and I think the VW and Audi less than weigh in money (went for bit over £100 each). The rough P4 went for £195 but what surprised me was Lot 8 - a Ford Prefect - that made £870! Maybe someone wants to build up Ford Pop hot rod with a period registration rather than a Q plate?

The registration no. itself might account for most of that, perhaps if someone with those initials wanted it. JFW was also a local Lincolnshire registration.

Looked the registration number up on the vehicle enquiry website. The number isn't recognised.

Also the auction description said "No paperwork at time of cataloguing". I would assume that with the number not being listed by the DVLA and no documentation for the vehicle, then the number is lost.
