Driving to China - might be worth investigating doing a subsidised rally when you get there;

High Road to China

Not sure if it still works, but 12 years ago I entered my address in the UK and my now wifes address in China into the RAC European Route Planner - and it gave me a route all the way.

The route DID go straight through Chelyabinsk Oblast though - a place best avoided for its "glowing" reviews.

Glad I am not the only one with the all weather tyre size issue. Mine has 185/60R16 and an initial search suggests they are not available which I find very strange. I am going to search again later but my well known high street fitters don't do them.

(Continental All-seasons are not available in this size either so Johns suggestion wouldn't work)

GT - that is a very unusual tyre size such that almost all suitable tyres are winter tyres according to tyres direct. Are there other suitable sizes listed in the handbook?

Hi Brit. It's a UK spec Mazda 2 so not sure why it's so unusual and the OP mentioned his Fiesta had the same. I will hunt further !

OK I seem to have found some. Halfords do them.

Bridgestone Ecopia EP25 (185/60 R16 86H DZ which is exactly my size and rating.

I'd check out the reviews on the Tyre Reviews website before buying. Whilst Bridgestone are a major make, they have been rather hit and miss as regards how good their tyres have been until recently, and you may find that because your tyres are quite an uncommon size combo, the Bridgestone tyre in question may be of an older design when they weren't as well received by users.

My dad has the same problem with his Fiesta's 195/50 R16s - Blackcircles has only a handful of tyre options across the board, and NO all season option, with those tyres being older designs or cheapo ditchfinders that I personally wouldn't trust, plus they are overly expensive because they are uncommon and thus BC cannot save money by buying in bulk, as they can with my very common tyres at 195/65 R15 and have 10x as many available, including all the latest designs, summer, winter and all-season from a wide varety of top, mid-ranked and cheapo brands.

I'm not biased against Bridgestone if you're wondering - I had some brilliant RE720s (replacements for the OEM Dunlops [poor to average]) on my previous car, but some terrible (IMHO) ER30s in my current car (gen-1 Mazda3) as OEMs, which, coincidently, I replaced with Dunlops (very good) and more recently Michelin CrossClimate+ (very good thus far).

Best of luck finding some decent tyres at a reasonable price. Not easy in your circumstances. You might want to check your manual or the plate on the driver's side door that gives what tyres you can normally fit that are ok from the car manufacturer's pov.

You might find that you could fit 205/55 R16 tyres (very common) if they fit your hub (the width may or may not be an issue) and if their overall diameter is within +1.5% or -2% from the OEM fitting. A quick check on the Oponeo calculator seems to think they are from a diameter perspective (+0.6%)
