Bumper stickers - Metropolis.
A recent post about those baby on board signs reminded me of some of the other stickers i’ve seen on cars, my favourite was on a black Toyota Supra overtaking everything in sight:

No wife great life!

Anyone else got a favourite?

I remember in the 70s the bumper sticker "Honk if you had it last night!" caused a mixture of merriment and outrage amongst other drivers. (No idea what it means though...)

I wanted that one on mine, (and still do) but apparently "real" L/R owners don't go for stickers, so the other one i chose,

" Land Rover - rescuing Jeeps since 1947" is a no - no too !

Not exactly a bumper sticker, but I once saw I pimped-up late model Ford Escort passing me near my office (around 2000) where the owner had also changed the model name (same Ford lettering) from 'ESCORT' to 'SORTED'.

That brought a few chuckles.

In the same vein, many moons ago when I was at secondary school (30+ years ago), a short, bald-headed teacher nobody liked had the word 'Bodmobile' written in the dust/dirt on the back of his car (I don't remember what it was, though unlikrly to be any good).

The name was very apt, for those who can recall who the kiddie's cartoon character 'Bod' was.

Seeing the post about changed lettering on the back of cars reminded me of one of our old unmarked ones. It was a VW Bora TDI, and someone had moved the T so that the back of the car read
DI Borat.

Who remembers the Not the Nine O'Clock News spoof Fiat Strada advert? "Designed by lasers; built by robots... driven by Italians!" I don't know if tht was ever made into a bumper sticker.
One I do remember from the 80s was something like "This car is paid for - and it's in front of you!"
