Hi all I'm having some real troubles setting the timing on my friends Vauxhall combo it's a 62 plate and the timing chain has snapped at only 60k on the clock. I've had the head off had the engineers strip and check the valves ect but I'm now in the process of putting it back together and I'm having issues setting the timing as the crank hasn't actually got a proper timing slot, I've tried putting it tdc but then can not get the camshaft to set into its locking position as the valves are hitting the piston, I've tried moving it round from tdc and locking the cams then taking no1 back up to tdc but again hits the valves. I have auto data but that's about as much use as a chocolate tea pot.... I'm really at a loss for where to go from here guys and would massively appreciate some help thanks in advance aaron
