2008 VW Polo 1.4 - Lower Control Arm Wishbone Bushes - PX-230A

I had the front lower control arm wishbone bushes replaced (common fault).

When I had the tracking done at a separate garage, the mechanic said the passenger side one hasn't been fitted correctly and has been twisted (apparently it should fit within a star shape in the hole?). And because of this, there is a small gap between the wishbone and its mounting point on the body.

Anyway, the car does feel a bit sloppy and it may be in my head since I've been told this but there does seem to be a bit of lateral movement from the front passenger wheel. Every other suspension component on the front is new too.

It's hard to tell if it was this sloppy before as the previous bushes were toast.

What symptoms would you expect if the bush has indeed been fitted incorrectly?

Take it back to the garage where you had the original bushes changed if badly fitted as this is a safety issue. eg How would you car perform in an emergency stop!
