Citroen C5 III (x7) exclusive Tourer - Suspension woes - CitroenianAgain

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend someone to look at my C5 Tourer that has sat down - looks to be almost on its bump stops, like the suspension motor/pump isn't working.

I'm near Leeds so would prefer someone nearby; but am looking at Chevronics in Hitchin who seem to get good reviews. Bit of a hike though

The car has Hydractive 3+ which seems to be the unicorn of car suspensions.

Tried M&M Holmbridge who used to look after my Xantia, but he literally hung up on me when I said it was H3+....

Recommendations much appreciated.

I thought Pleiades (check speeling) in Sawtry were the Y fronts of Citroen suspension, well regarded on the Landcruiser forums for sorting out Amazon hydraulic suspension too.

Whether they can sort out the very complicated electronics of your car, if that is the issue, obviously i haven't a clue.

Well, in the end I got it to Chevronics and they diagnosed a knackered suspension pump and associated loom. The price for sorting that was reasonable (ie hideously expensive, but the part cost isn’t their fault). Having had issues with the steering rack and an expensive MOT journey last year, I couldn’t really justify the spend. Like my learned other half said “it’s like throwing money down a hole.” I’m sure that at 176k (2010) there were other issues ahead.

Absolutely loved that car though and will really miss it.

Citroëns are cheap - but they get you at the parts department.
The rear box on my 3 litre C5 rotted though at just three years old, they wanted £1000 to replace it. Luckily Sebring made an after-market one which cost me ~£300 if I remember rightly, beautifully made, double skinned - I suspect it saw the car out.
