Probably of absolutely no interest to the majority but I saw my first butterfly of the year yesterday ( male Brimstone) along with a lot of Bees !!! made my day...

Possibly another false spring unfortunately, whilst i too enjoyed the warmth yesterday, i was at work Sat and Sunday but Sun went for a pleasant stroll during my lunch break with shirt sleeves rolled up.

We've had a few years of these now, unusually warm spells when buds and insects have appeared early, only to suffer due to much colder fronts moving in afterwards, and to be fair i hope the country does get some reasonable snow so the children, young and old, get to enjoy a few days of play....and our posters who have bought snow capable tyres get to test them out :-)

Hm. I wonder how many people tune in to the changes of the seasons. I've been fascinated by it all ever since childhood. At the moment I love spotting flowering crocuses and the first daffodils - we have some very pretty miniature ones in the front garden. And of course catkins on certain trees (really a type of flower) have been visible for weeks.

First bluebottle in the house on Friday, but I did see a bee over Christmas as it was so warm.

However, last year's snow wasn't until March and April - Easter Monday last year was a white out - so there is plenty of time.

I have seen any spring here its miserable and rainy. I read online were going to have the hottest day of Feb i think at the end of the week but i know tje artical said the hottest day will be folled by a lot of snow and ice. The most spring i have seen is my local asda already has shelves full of easter eggs , i thought how daft its way too early only for my partner to come in from work with a large easter egg scoffing his face while watching the chase. I kept diesel occupied in the garden as i did not want him anywere near chocolate as its deadly for dogs. Good job im not a huge fan of chocolate ( i only eat it at special occasions)

I wouldn't be surprised if the local ice cream seller makes a trip round the estate in the next week - a barmy 15degC later this week, up from 14 on Sunday.
